Loftus Leisure Centre was opened on the 6th of January 1981 by The Mayor of Langaurgh, Councillor T. Collins.
The Sauna Suite opened several years later on the 8th of October 1985 and was opened by The Mayor of Langaurgh, Councillor A.S Seed.
The Fitness Suite which was previously two squash courts opened on the 6th January 1998 by The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Councillor K McBride.
The Sauna Suite was refurbished in 2008 with the support from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
